Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 8 August 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are a contract between you and Y Healthcare Services LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17014317) with its registered office at Studio 3, Jackson House, Sibson Road, M33 7RR (“Locum1st”, “we”, “us”). They govern your use of the Locum1st website at locum1st.net and the Locum1st mobile apps (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Locum1st provides work-management tools for UK locum pharmacy professionals: shift tracking, mileage logging, expense tracking, invoice generation, professional verification, messaging, and a marketplace where pharmacies and agencies post available shifts.

Locum1st is not an employment agency or employment business. We provide software that connects locums with pharmacies and agencies. Any engagement you accept through the marketplace is a contract between you and the pharmacy or agency, not with us. We are not responsible for the conduct, payment, or working conditions of any party you engage with through the Service.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and a pharmacy professional (or in training for a pharmacy role) to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity on your account.
  • Information you provide — including your GPhC number, professional status, and verification documents — must be accurate and up to date. Misrepresenting your professional status may result in immediate termination of your account.

4. Free and Pro plans

The core Service is free. Locum1st Pro is a paid monthly subscription that unlocks additional features (such as manual mileage entry, invoice generation and sending, analytics and export, and pharmacy statistics). The current feature split and price are shown in the app and on our website.

New Pro subscribers receive one month free. After the trial, Pro renews at the displayed monthly price unless cancelled before the trial ends. The free trial is limited to one per eligible subscriber and is not available to users who have already redeemed an introductory offer.

  • Web subscriptions are billed by Stripe. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in your Account page; your Pro access continues to the end of the paid period.
  • iOS subscriptionsare billed by Apple through your Apple account and are subject to Apple’s terms. You can cancel in your Apple subscription settings. Refunds for iOS purchases are handled by Apple.
  • We may change Pro pricing or features with at least 30 days’ notice; changes apply from your next billing period.

5. Invoices, mileage, and tax

The Service helps you create records and documents (invoices, mileage logs, expense records, reports), but you are responsible for their accuracy and for your own tax affairs. Locum1st does not provide accounting, tax, or legal advice. HMRC mileage rates and other figures used by the Service are provided for convenience and may change; confirm current rates with HMRC or your accountant before relying on them.

6. Marketplace

  • Shifts on the marketplace are posted by pharmacies and agencies; we do not guarantee their availability, accuracy, or that any application will be accepted.
  • Minimum rate. As a condition of posting a shift on the marketplace, pharmacies and agencies must offer an hourly rate of at least £25.00. This figure is a baseline, not a fixed price: the minimum we require may be higher or lower in a given area, depending on average local shift pricing. This is a listing requirement for using the Service, not a rate we set on behalf of any pharmacy, agency, or locum, and it does not make Locum1st a party to, or responsible for, the resulting engagement. We may reject or remove postings that do not meet the applicable minimum, and may change it with notice on this page.
  • When you apply for a shift, the details you provide (including your name and verified status) are shared with the poster.
  • Confirmed shifts are logged to your account. Cancellation and payment terms for an engagement are between you and the pharmacy or agency.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful, or upload content that is defamatory, infringing, or malicious;
  • upload documents that are forged or that belong to another person;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its data, or interfere with its operation;
  • use the messaging features to harass others or send spam;
  • scrape, resell, or provide the Service to third parties without our written consent.

8. Your content

You own the records and documents you create in the Service. You grant us the licence we need to store, process, and display them in order to run the Service (including sending an invoice when you ask us to). We may remove content that breaches these terms.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify features, and may suspend or withdraw the Service for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We recommend exporting records you rely on.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that:

  • we are not liable for losses arising from engagements you enter with pharmacies or agencies, from inaccuracies in records you create, or from your tax affairs;
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of business;
  • our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in that period (or £100 if you paid nothing).

11. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen; this removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms. Clauses that by their nature should survive termination (including clauses 5, 10, and 12) will do so.

12. General

We may update these terms; significant changes will be notified in the app or by email, and continuing to use the Service after they take effect means you accept them. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions about these terms: [email protected].
